What Did Ya'll Have For Dinner Tonight?

We had the first new potatoes from the garden today.
Actually "from the garden" is stretching it a bit.
The mail order bride started them in the kitchen, then moved them out in the greenhouse and then in the garden.
She tries every year to beat her own record for earliest potatoes.

Had them with a dab of salted butter and it was good.

Green risotto.
A recipe I got from my neighbour, who sadly died last year.
He was a great cook and an even better baker.

Basic risotto with green asparagus, then just before adding the cheese you toss in a handful of basil, one of parsley and ½ a one of mint.
Since all the herbs need cutting down, it was an obvious thing to make.

The Portuguese do a good job with sardines. Haven't had that brand, but all the others I've had have been first rate. Some kind of canned fish is lunch pretty much every day I don't eat out at work.

That does sound good. I've never cooked with them either. It's either straight from the can, or on crackers.
