Here’s the smush

As it turned out the customers nephew’s cremated remains were in the trunk. So I got to tear the trunk open with the BMG. Fun!!!! Smashed a windshield a log, just fun!

When I was in grade school, as a fundraiser they towed a junk car in the parkinglot. painted the teacher's names on it, and the kids paid some amount of money to hit the car with a sledge on your "favorite" teacher. It was fun, but the two downsides were no glass, and it was an early 60s something or other, so it was like hitting a battleship with a hammer. Not much carnage for the effort :^D

I got too greedy. Might have gotten more if I hadn’t angled the face so far from the lean. I also didn’t block face it. Did sizzy. That part of the trunk was super brittle, just by looking at it. Too much lean, too much weight.

Went back down to the smashed cabin today to finish the spruce removal using two grip hoists to pull it off the wall. Went as planned, fortunately, because I really didn't want to set up scaffolding and buck it ten feet off the ground.

Bears, lots of them in July when the Pink salmon return. Both Black and Brown.

Yes, it's an old fire escape. He is 32 years old and retired. Now it is used for washing windows, repairing facades, etc.

An old homestead we have been working on and off. The parents got ill and passed away. During their down time, things were neglected for years. Turned into a jungle. Huge dead wood aloft. Natural spring and creek choked off with dead fallen limbs, trees and scrub growth. 100% density.
So some fodder. Had me set up a dead oak for wind chimes. I'll get pictures of the other larger grove next visit. Pretty up there. Foot of Mount Bullion.

Trouble on the other side of the Sierra though. Going to effect a lot of folks. Nevada, California and Mexico.

They're awfully thin. Will the foliage ever thicken up? If they were thicker, I'd say some kind of geometric pattern cutting "windows" into the hedge.

This is the north side of the house, and therefore even the snow has not melted yet. North side, there is little sun, and that is why they are so thin.

Perhaps I will trim these tui that follow the contours of the house -

Tui is a New Zealand bird.
Be hard to get that to hold still for a trim.
