Point and shoot - things to photograph

I'm no photographer, but I did snap this pic a few weeks ago. I thought it was cool, anyways:

Nice sunrise.
The powerlines mar it a bit, but I guess it was too much trouble to take them down just to take a picture.

I always though Erik live in a more city setting. That's farm country.

I wonder why you'd think that, Ger? You know I'm no city boy.

Farm country, for sure; dairy farms, lots of produce, a few orchards, and even a farm up the road that raises deer for venison.

I stopped in at work to do some adjusting on the sawmill this evening and had a surprise guest. I was underneath the engine adjusting the belt tension when he started making a hell of a racket. Dang near rammed my head into the oil pan. I got to within about ten feet of him before he took off.

There's got to be a few of them around. I can hear them all the time, but I didn't know what was making the noise until tonight. He walked through the log yard like he owned the place.

Nice pheasant. :) I used to see them along 35W on my daily commute into Minneapolis. I've never seen one in Kentucky.

Here's a bug. I think it's a banded hickory borer, but I'm not positive. Caught him on the screen last night in my nifty bug catcher cup.

I've shots hundreds of images at a local ~80 nest heron rookery since last year. This year, our very late spring has the trees barely leafed out. Two of the trees are ash, which normally leaf late anyhow. So I've been able to capture the heron young quite well, mainly yesterday, as they are more active than 10 days ago.

Red shouldered hawk

This fellow has been playing around in the back yard all morning, right outside my office window.

Katy has been practicing with her new to her camera from Gerry and Terry B. She has been hiking up the hill from the house. Some new housing lots with views, creek and a pond. Wild flowers have been real nice this year :) Gerry, I think she is getting better and better with it.. Thanks again our generous friend :)
