Started going on Saturday mornings to a local F3 group. Light weight with many reps in a short time seems to be the thing they do. Add some running in there as well. My arms will probably hurt for another day or so. Legs aren’t to bad this week. I’m off for two weeks at the end of the year so I might try to do the Monday and Wednesday workouts with them at that time.
@cory carrying that kettlebell is tough. Much harder than rucking. Good for the core though.

Lately I've been carrying a 20 or 25 lb kettle bell while walking the pet in the woods, it's a good workout and seems harder than rucking the same weight.

In this vid, it is crazy how he becomes weightless for a moment while lifting 496lbs

Offset weights require much greater core stabilization to prevent spinal bending compared to a uniformly loaded backpack.

The gym I do BJJ at is holding an adult fit class and this is what we did a few weeks ago. Mostly body weight stuff with some kettlebells. Doesn’t look like much till one actually does this. 30-60 second rest between rounds. After three weeks of these types of workouts I can say that I feel more energetic, toning up my figure, and my recovery is getting much better. After this one I was sore for 4 days. The last one I was just a little sore the next morning and was feeling normal by afternoon. I’m looking forward to tomorrow mornings F3 workout on a snow covered football field

That's a lot of work! Just curious if you eat more protein these days with all the exercise on top of being and industrial athlete

For those that don’t do this, you won’t understand. I’ve been cold plunging for almost two years now. Lately I’ve been slacking a lot which I’m not proud of. You would think that’s it’s not a big deal to get into that water (43*F today) after doing it for so long. I haven’t been in there for 4 days and I’m terrified. I’ve been in my garage putting it off for hours. I keep finding excuses to do something else. I’ve done my stretching and workout. Now I’m contemplating how to add a storage area without putting a post in the center of everything just so I don’t have to get in there. I know that I will feel so much better after, but it still sucks every single time I do it. This is the ultimate love/hate relationship. And tomorrow will be worse because there will be fresh ice and most likely in the mid 30’s tomorrow morning when I have to do it before work

I haven’t really made it a point to eat more protein. I do eat my three eggs most mornings though. Mostly I’ve just been cutting out as much processed and ultra processed as possible.
Nice. Seems like plenty o protein is key these days.

3 eggs? Yikes, for dinner omelettes I usually have 10.

OMG. THIS!!!! :dude: :dude: :drink: :drink: 🐗🐗🦍🦍💯💯

Utterly priceless comment because it is hilarious and so true. Yup it is basically never easy to get in but 99% of the time you feel amazing afterward and are fully psyched you went in and you feel, how shall I say it, enriched.

Beautiful tub you have there, Rich.

I was in Long Island Sound a couple weeks ago, I think it was 50* but realized that dunking in live bodies of water like that always feels significantly colder due to the water movement vs a Tub where there is no water movement unless you wave your arms and legs in the water.

As far as going in tomorrow morning before work after you break the ice in the tub, well that is super hardcore. I know you've done it many times before so no doubt you know best. I personally rarely dunk 2 days in a row just bc I don't sense the need for it. Even tho you know best, I guess I'd say make sure you're going in for the right reasons (whatever they are :? ).

And speaking of that beauteous tub of yours, I guess it is located inside, right? Because it would probably be a poor idea to let water freeze inside an insulated tub like that. I just drained my Grizz a few days ago, at night in the cold air before a cold snap. It went well overall but basically dumb idea to drain the tub in freezing weather.:/:

Now to bust out the old reliable, the OG tub- Rubbermaid 100gal stock tank, the tank that started it all:lol:

I still feel I should do it everyday. I’ve been slacking on it lately and I’m mad at myself for it. At the least I splash my face in it every morning. It’s amazing the wake up just that brings.
The sauna is on my list to acquire. I can’t remember the company name but they have the “Eddie” and “Edwin” as their flagship saunas. They’re out of Cleveland, OH so kinda local. I also just passed a place close to work and swore I saw one in their show room. I’m going to check it out even though I can’t purchase at the moment. I did find a cabin rental about an hour from me that has both a cold plunge and sauna. I might surprise the wife with a weekend get away that might allow me to test out the “fire and ice”
