We've all heard them before, that single line of wisdom that is supposed to guide you through life. Like, " Don't let your mouth get your ass in trouble"

What have you got?

Advice to Son upon getting married: "Don't expect it to be perfect and put the seat down."

Jay, is that "a single line of wisdom", or a commentary on the post(s) above? :)

Insanity is doing the same things over and over again expecting different out comes that didn't work out well in the first place .

Well this is a little more than a single line but always liked this movie and this monolog from Robert Duvall:

“If you want to believe in something, then believe in it. Just because something isn’t true, that’s no reason you can’t believe it."

"… Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things that a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor … courage and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing, that good always triumphs over evil; and I want you to remember this, that love … true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that."

"Doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things, because … those are the things worth believing in. Got that?”

'Hub' (Robert Duvall) in Second Hand Lions, Tim McCanlies (Writer/Director)

No commentary on your post, Jack, but i see how such might be the interpretation. :)

"What will be will be".
