It has always interested me how the "hot" peppers we get in our grocery, of the several varieties we use from time to time, can be so variable in the heat content...most especially the jalapenos. Some are merely sweetish warm, some will burn your lips off, most are somewhere in the middle :).

Anyone know why?

This always surprises me. It's probably because of the way it's presented... But that's just my personal opinion, and it's not the truth!)

Kristen made salmon picatta with penne pasta a few nights ago. Then last night I made ground beef stroganoff with mushrooms. The recipe was very fast and the noodles cook in the meat sauce. It came out a little gummy but still tasty. Then Kristen made sourdough baguettes. They were her best sourdough so far.

Last night, was beefy queso dip and chips. Tonight, excessive amounts of mashed taters and gravy.

Last time Ash came to visit, she left this little battery powered coffee whisk thing. Makes making instant gravy stupid easy, as if it wasn't already lolz.

Bachelor slop, what can I say? I'll do another sirloin tomorrow to help offset all the carbs...

I made another lentil instant pot tonight. Each one is a little different, depending on what's in the fridge. This time I added a big handful of kale and spinach after it was cooked. Too easy.

Just had a big bowl of fresh green beans. Love em. I grow pole beans that make it more fun to pick. I bought a 2 lb bag the other day, grown in US, and cost about $6. Not quite as good as homegrown, but beats frozen ones. Can't wait to plant tomatoes and beans and beets. Usually pumpkins and winter squash too.

Only PIA is I have to fence the deer out of the beans and beets.
