Too dead to climb?

Why so serious?

Well I turned around after reading this thread and climbed a big dead black walnut. Someone said it had leaves on it last year. They are either blind or a big fibber. The tree has been dead for years and years. I made my bid time wise but I should have added money to it for the "nuts factor." Willie gave me a call while I was in the tree and assured me that the big splits in the wood did not make it through the center of the tree. He was right, the tree didn't break and I didn't die. We used the GRCS and it helped greatly but is was probably not the best first tree for the guys to rig as I had them crank branches up and over and then they smashed into the trunk spraying them with broken twigs.

First I'd seen it...nice work, Ger!

note Gerry's deep face cuts on the short spars...let's 'em tip over easily.
