gettin there

I see these styles as less than effecient compared to useing two legs to help walk the rope. One leg looks alot harder. The frogg walker might be the one with some adjustments to my size and age..lol...to be able to keep your body weight higher while walking the rope useing a chest ascender might be better.I hope I get a chance to practice soon and film it for this site. Thanks for the help guys.Right now I am still teaching my guys the floating falst crotch with an anchor line and double pulley,VT.almost cheating on long ascents.

Its not a video, but a picture of the setup I tried in Australia at QLD Arborcamp.
Going up -Krab on the ring of the bridge - grigri - right hand ascender with a pulley to help tail the grigri - foot loop off the ascender. There is also a sling from the ascender to a krab on the bridge, I think that was a safety backup.
Coming down, take off the hand ascender and foot loop and rappell down on the grigri.

Went 120' up a eucalyptus, got to the top and the guy up there said,
'let me undo the rope and set it a bit higher...'
I said, 'what...the ONE rope I am attached to?'
He said, 'yeah, no worries'
I said 'not for YOU buddy but what about me?'
I was way outside my comfort zone, but hey, it was a lot of fun once I relaxed and trusted the gear. It was very sphincterish being up that high with just a lanyard around a branch while a guy unties your SRT and resets it then that's what you have to rappell down on...I asked him if he could tie knots real well...turns out he was like the TOP climbing instructor in Queensland, a bit embarassing, but hey, means he knew how to tie that knot!

I believe that's a RADS set-up, Bermy.....

Hope this pic of a fir at Heart O' the Hills Campground, in Olympic National Park helps someone of our age & size. Sorry it's not a video of a Ponderosa Pine.

Arboreally yours,

Guess I am going to have to haul my arrse up a pondo, camcorder in tow and do it my self? evey one I have seen is not imformative. No video or pics of the rigging or set up and certainly no video viewbale of the mechanics. Jerry has a video would he venture to post it her or on WTS? hmmm maybe for a fee?
