I Love Knives!

Unless I'm up a tree, I'm always near my tools. I've never had a need for one, myself.
 
I have a set in the glovebox and one in my camping bag. Both with the little extra tool set for the extra screwdriver bits etc.
 
My brother is a big fan of Leatherman. He's a sound technician, musician and a biker (Harley for ever). He holds one all the time hanging on his belt and uses it continuously.
He gave me one at Christmas some years ago. I don't have so many uses like him, but one for me is a good help for splicing.
One thing I dislike is the hollow handles for the pliers, they aren't comfy at all for the hand and we can't have a good grip because of that.

That's basically true for me, too. The swiss army does a bunch of small things that need doing, and beyond that, I grab the requisite tool. But I feel like maybe if I had something with pliers etc, I might find I use it a lot. Plus, in case of emergency when the tools are not nearby....

I hear ya there I carry a 115pcs crapsman set in each truck, tho I did buy a leatherman and gerber from a collector perspective, it's hard to beat the real tools.

It's a Garum spoon, pretty potent stuff.:shaking:

Chop small fish into tiny pieces.
Add fish eggs and the entrails of sardines and sprats.
Beat together until they become an even pulp.
Set mixture in sun to ferment, beating occasionally.
Wait six weeks or until evaporation has reduced the liquid content of the pulp.
Hang reduced liquamen in a basket with fine holes in the bottom.
Place storage jars under the basket.
Let liquid slowly drain into the jars.
Collect the liquid in the jars. This is the garum.

I believe using it as a coke spoon is healthier and less likely to cause you problems then that stuff you speak of.

How about this one. I think that's a nut cracker between the axe and hammer. You need all three to crack Macadamia nuts.
It isn't a nut cracker for me. More likely a universal plier (cutting jaws, fine grip and large grip) like that :

It should be very pocket friendly !
And not practical at all due to the very blunt nose: the axe forbids a frontal approach and the hammer a side approach, at least in mechanic.
Maybe for some wire work like fencing.

Fascinating. I love knives, especially good ones. There's just something about a razor sharp blade. Jim, I could picture you in armor swinging Excaliber in defense of your dear Queen Guinevere
 
I bought 2 sweet Mora knives, Swedish made, high quality low price, go figure. Uh, how do you post pics?
 
I've got several Moras too Cory, a good knife at a great price. I don't go fishing without my 4" stainless version and a carbon steel model resides on the dash of my truck when I'm not hunting. This is the stainless one. I'm not sure what the "button" on the sheath is for, a keeper strap maybe, but I cut it off because my cast net hangs up on it. Do you know what it's for?
