My chipper discharge chute's deflector adjustment bolt broke.

Simple fix. My neighbor will be able to fix it in a jiffy in the next couple days.

A little more to chip today...a felling wedge is wedging it into the right spot ATM.




Otherwise, life is good.

Wow; miss a few days and the world changes!! Welcome back Brian!! Good to read you again. Re-nested three screech owlets; spalted wood discussion: I trimmed the office at my last house with wood from a spalted Sweetgum I took down and milled. Dropped a hollow walnut for my 83 year old beekeeper friend ( been farming and keeping bees since he was 17!). Borrowed a friend’s stumper and belt failed with literally three passes to go! - now waiting on a new belt. He never cleans anything, so I took the time to clean, lube, and adjust it. I asked if he had a spare belt at the barn and he said, “No, that belt lasted 15 years”. Cleared underbrush and spread topsoil and leaf mulch so wife could start a shade garden.

Those three are already ‘branchers’, meaning they climb out and hop around the tree some; they’ll fledge within about a week to two. We have five nest boxes up in trees now. In about three weeks we’ll go take them down and store them for next year.

-Just 2 weekends ago I bought a couple of used kayaks, 3 hundo each, and my son and I went down the local river in town that sees extremely little activity . It was totally awesome, so damn much fun. I love to SUP but was a lil cold so we scratched the itch with kayaks. Lots of rain had made the river relatively high and flowing and sure enough, like lxsklr cautioned, I sorta almost died. Most of the river was cake but there were a few rapids. All were good except for...the last one, you had to turn kinda sharply to the side in it or else you'd run hard into a huge pricker bush on the shore. My son was in front and I saw him get a bit torn up on the hand/arm from the prickers and I wanted none of that so I paddled hard to try to avoid it. Yeah well, yeah nah , I capsized and got held under water for a bit by the kayak which, full of water, appeared to weigh about 500lbs. I was like, hey wow, look at me, I might buy it here. Well I managed to get freed up and now I have a strong, personal appreciation of river dangers, even in a 'mellow' river.

Dealt with crazies all day it seemed. Between customers and employees I am glad I don’t carry. Add the wife to that list. Been home working on the camper for three hours and she’s still adding things for me to do. I’m taking a shower and going to bed

Did my 10 hours at work and then did some bids, got 1 for sure. Another phone call too today, that I'll be bidding later this week, along with some others. I need a clone lol

We polished turds all day. Chipped the turd clippings. Lady liked it. Collected check. Run 1 hour out for a lift for tomorrow. 1 hour back. Got burritos to go . Tomorrow, actually do some tree work next to a house. Then run the lift one hour back where it came from. Then run probably another hour out to buy a new AC. Then run 2 hours back. Ahhhhhhh the joys.

It's not that hard to learn.


I had an easy half day pruned out a long time custy's yard easy stuff a little pole saw, some hand saw, and a little hand pruner work.

I’m sure it’s not that hard to learn, but for the odd piece of repair welding, there are loads of guys willing to do it for a few quid and a chat.

You all know how working outdoors and slowly building up a tan as spring progresses into summer means you never worry about exposure to the sun, much.

Well, let me tell you, when you get the cast off your arm after wearing it for 6 weeks, it ios NOT smart to go fiddle around outside for most of the day afterwards!

Second worst sunburn of my life, arm swollen and VERY red.

Worst one was in California in 84.
Went tubing down the Trinity river wearing a bathing suit, not thinking about the fact that my legs NEVER see sunlight.
Try logging in short pants and you'll know what I mean.

Tubing trip took 4 hours in the California sun and it took most of a bottle of tequila to make me able to sleep that night.

Global warming, driving the pasty scandanavians ever northward into the path of the Polar bears, heading southwards, seeking new food sources after the failure of the sea ice means the seals are out of reach.

There can be only one winner when these northern species clash.

That is evolution at work.

Sad thing is, I think the Polar bear will end up the loser.

Since I won't be around to see how it pans out, and I don't have any kids, you'll find me in the stand, guzzling bad beer and rooting loudly for the Polar bears.

Man, I'm tired of typing with one finger from the only hand that works. Some time the hand with no feeling insists on joining the game, which doesn't work at all.
I spend more time cleaning typos out than I spend writing posts.
Good thing I have nothing better to do.
