How'd it go today?

Rained like the dickens this morning. Had a joystick quit working on the spider, so I pulled it apart and replaced it. Will put it all back together tomorrow. Spent the rest of the afternoon with the grandkids....:D

I worked on a bathroom this morning. A buddies Aunt had hired a contractor to come in and finish it for her. She wanted tile in the shower/bath tub area. But he just put up regular sheetrock, not even greenboard:?
He asked what I thought of that, then I got pulled in.
We cut it all out 5' above the tub and put in 1/2" hardibacker with a BUNCH of silicone just because!
Then we fixed a galvanized pipe that the threads had broken on, but it was screwed into cast iron drain pipe. He wanted to take the galvanized pipe out of the cast and couldn't understand the problem with that!
It took a LOT of convincing, but I finally talked him into using a rubber sleeve with hose clamps into PVC.
Longer drawn out story, sorry.
I bid it for eight hours, done in five. I also bid this hourly, I said eight to cover my butt with the "what if's", she was rather shocked, and very happy:D

John, hope you can lick this quickly, hang in there.

Stephen, my sincere condolences. It takes a little bit of ourselves from us every time we lose one of our own, but I believe we get a bit of those we still remember back to replace the part of us we have lost.

I understand Stephan!

Sleep? Right! Stoms rolled in around 4am, laugh all you want, but I swear the thunder rolled for five to ten min. at a time! It just shook the house for forever!
Then I was up at 6:30, couldn't sleep anymore!

You and about the rest of the world, Andy. I was having some sleep problems myself, started looking it up, and discovered it's a major thing.

kept getting rain off and on all day. kept trying to get folks to just come into the house but they stayed out in the rain and all left early. not very big thing this year, but some really good and old friends showed so had a great time. Tons of great food left for me.8) bout all the pics we got cause of rain/battery problems.

Looks like those in attendance were having a good time atleast.8)

I've been running a demo Bandit 1290 the last couple of days. A very comparable machine to the 250xp I have I'd say. One weird thing that keeps happening with the machine is sometimes when you start it up the hydraulics are running backwards. Like when you push the bar to reverse it's actually you push the bar to feed. What's with that? The one thing I like more is the decalling. Intimidator.

No word yet on what's actually wrong with my chipper or when I get it back. Hopefully they get it back to me before I have to change knives on this demo unit.:|:

And we wonder why I ain't a plumber NO MO......
Hmm speaking which I've had some problems with my solinoid valve sticking open on my geo thermal . Little fine sand gets in it .

I had neglected to change the two 10 micron filters for some time which I did today . The darned things had a pretty good build up of sand in them which has me somewhat concerned that my well might be sanding in .That would certainly suck with a half life .

Oh well, such is life it seems one snag right after another. No sense loosing sleep over something you can't change .

I was getting worried about ours, then I remembered you have an open loop system.

Sanding in, that happens at the end of the life of a well?

Taking the trailer back to Jackson, spending the night, doing a little tree work, and coming home tomorrow with a trio of cousins who are spending the week.

Certainly the longest trailer I've towed with the 'Vic, and the ants are really bad this year. Actually it's sand that's being used to backfill the trenches where we installed the irrigation system.

Got things cleaned up from Sat. party and tables, chairs will be returned tomorrow while I am back at work. Nephew called and needed ride home , so drove out to get him. Going to try to finish book I've been reading.

Today was good. Slept in till 10 or so, went through all my gear in preparation for the new week. Worked on some climbing saws, did some outside stuff, and sat around.

Also found out that Dad is going to have to lay off the climbing for a few days. Since his stitches he's found out his finger is infected now:(, so no climbing for awhile. Which means some fun TD's are in my near future!:D

Best wishes for your father's quick recovery, Adrian. I know it sucks when your body fails you and prevents you from working.

Speaking of which, I see Bivyless John poking around the forum tonight. How are you feeling, John? The back still locked up on you?

Thanks Skwerl. The scary part is a buddy of our lost a toe after it became infected recently. They had to amputate it. He's scared the same could happen to his finger. Hopefully the medicine clears that worry up though.
