How'd it go today?

The sickness continues. "I wonder why my heat shrink butt connector dies have more than the usual three notches?" I asked myself about 3:00 A.M. Tuesday morning. I found out. Then I rectified my lack of odd sized heat shrink butt connectors.

Just did my physical therapy again this week. Therapist brought me up to date and we did an eval. Part of bringing me up to date was finding out the SOB that quit the clinic that was supposed to set up my referral to phys therapy, never included my lower back that he asked x rays for. Found out I had a compression fracture in L1 that no one caught. Upon seeing it for himself, was to set up treatment for that as well. Sumbiatch did not. Even after I called him out on it. Going to start with a new doc now. One of my local go to's started up his practice again. But sum biatch, stuff like this pisses me off.

Katy is going through it as well. Lost her doctor and Nurse Practitioners in one fell swoop. 4 gone. Quit.
Now she gets to start over as well.
She fasted before work a couple mornings ago. Showed up for her blood work, no orders. Found out about her care providers leaving the clinic she goes to. Do over.

Our local hospital should completely fail in the near future. They just cant seem to appropriate money correctly to comply to the new state standard. Add more taxes, they spend more getting nothing done. It will end poorly.
 
I am just about to get in the business of yelling at people, I swear


bid a job for my grandma's hair stylist yesterday, its CHEAP because its 2 hours of work, no cleanup and I got permission to smash the fence, going to cost me no more than $100 to do so I price accordingly and pretty much get told I have the job, meanwhile I'm STILL on site when a competitor the customer called arrives, obviously he wants nothing to do with a job when theres already another company on site but its not my fault the customer wanted to talk for 30 minutes when I kept trying to get to the truck to leave

well, customer texts me back this morning saying that she went with the other guys bid, its DOUBLE my price, this lady asked this other guy about more trees that she never even mentioned to me, guess I'm about to start demanding a contract on the spot because it seems half or more of the jobs I "win" are going this way, too much damn competition, even a bunch of local buddies are complaining about it, so its not just my customers but damnit its stupid


I guess its time to absolutely turn my game to 11 and break the knob off, and go put some guys out of business since all but maybe 10 companies here are hacks without insurance or a license, and half of them claim to be certified arborists when they can't tell a pine from an oak, honestly about ready to walk away from this shit and go do something less stressful and stupid with my life
 
My brother has spent the last year begging me to go to florida for a weekend to go offroad, ride motorcycles and hang out, I might just have to do that and get my mind off work for a bit, I just dont want to get stuck in his house with 5 toddlers, 2 cats and 3 dogs, I go into a mental overload with all the noise

I'm sensitive af about losing jobs. In the scenario he described, you wouldn't be bent?? F8ck that old ho but this too shall pass
 
20 years ago when we used to do some roof jobs I measured up a cut up farm house and gave a farmer freind a bid. He told me you pretty much have the job, just going to get one more bid. I told him if it came in lower let me know. Planned on the job. Waited for the go ahead til I drove by and saw the roof done. Then a few years later he left a message to come and give him a bid on something. Yeah, I will be right there.

I think most of my problems in the professional world are caused by poor communication. Other people’s poor communication. What I fix all day every day. Sometimes I get eye rolls or told I’m extra or an over communicator or I talk too much, but I usually get what I ask for/explain.
 
My usual finding in life, is that If I did not get the job, I would not want the client.
Shit people sort themselves out.

Recent call. Encroachment permit for driveway entry. Lack a visibility. Close to home. HO not in area. I just go look. Easy job. Crown raise a topped oak group that is now like a 25 foot tall bush and remove a couple shrubs. Called they guy, said the lads and I could do it for our minimum charge. 2 hour 3 man crew rate with chipper. If I can broadcast chips into a field. If I catch and haul. Add 50.00. Since its not a ton of material and close to home. He balked at the price. Said I seem expensive and wanted it done with in two days. I could not be there till week after next. Like booked one week out. If I would slip him in the next day or two, he would hire me. Pretty much told him to call around and let me know if he changes his mind. I dont work for beer money.
If he calls, I wont accept the job. I know for a fact, someone like this is a problem client. He will get on my schedule, occupy a space on it that a better client could have and be a pain in the arse to deal with and collect money from. No thanks.
We need the work. But not at the cost of sacrificing our good rep over some ass that could leave a bad review since he'll never be happy.

im not sensative about losing jobs, just mad when the customer wants to give other people work that they never even offered me, then turns down the work they offered me to begin with, thats just a dick move, and thats not even mentioning the other guy lied about not smashing her fence, the wire is inside the tree, theres no way you're taking the tree down without the fence coming down, cant even set your arm on it without breaking the rusted wire
