How'd it go today?

No shame at all in walking John!!! Listen to the gut, it knows!!!

Took down my loosing election signs and hauled off a load a brush. I need a LOT of practice picking brush with the BMG!!!

I didn't have any work today so I started on my bucket truck radiator/fan problem. I went to Stockton and purchased a fan assembly from a used truck parts outfit. Got the radiator removed and the fan mounted in. I think that's the easy part. Now I have to move the radiator about 3" forward and there is this bracket thing (that holds the radiator and provides front support for the front fenders and the hood latch) in the way. I went to my cousin's to borrow his sawzall and got to see his boy who just got out of the army a couple of weeks ago. Did a tour in Iraq as an intelligence dude. Now has some job with a DoD contractor in Maryland and starts at the end of the month.

planted a tree today. thanks to a powerline clearance snafu the homeowner got a new tree. Someone pruned the other tree on friday then someone came back monday and did it again, oops, left a crappy hat rack half the size of the original spec, contractor got reamed (I would imagine) and the power co paid for the new tree and the installation.

a little more talk and thought would have saved the power co a pile of money.

No, but I just got my pesticide applicators liscence and figured my insurance covers it, I might as well look into the diagnosis and treatment portion. Don't want to get into mowing. Lawns and trees are so often integrated systems, it can only be good knowledge

Contractor meeting this morning(for local chipping program) and now I'm geared up and just waiting for my unc(employee) to head out and slay a tree.8)

Good luck with your truck repairs, Greg. I hope it's not too painful.

Similar problem here, today I went to go get my truck and found the passenger window had been shot out with a BB gun. :X I called my insurance company and found out I have a $1000 deductible on that sort of thing (vandalism) so I'm going to have to eat it. The storage manager wasn't in today but I'll try to get her to help me cover it since I've been there almost 3 years.

I think it may be that karma thing kicking in again. Seems like I recall playing around with a BB gun last week and might have accidentally hit the neighbor's vinyl siding on their house. :O

That's pretty funny Brian. I was working on my truck and it started raining, I see it has stopped now so I will try it again.
Paul, that's a really good looking tree.

Bummer Brian.

I had an awesome day. Slayed a good sized triple stemmed from the base Red Maple. Each stem was about 24" DBH. Brought Greg along and we had it down by 12:45 given there was a fence, and the brush had to get pulled through an arbor we installed last year. We lucked out and didn't even need to bring the mini, the owner let us drive down along the woodsline and blow into the woods. Finished off by making the stump into a pretty neat looking chair, and did a light reduction on an Apple. Day went great. I got some pics stored up if my bro ever brings over his spare computer.

$181 plus tax to get it replaced. And they will come to me, either tomorrow or Monday.

The guy who went to Kentucky with me as my groundman also lives in that mobile home park and I've offered him a $200 'finders fee' for the BB gun that was used to shoot my window. I'm not concerned with possible scratches, dings or bloodstains that might be on the BB gun, just so long as it's the same one used on my window.

The dude who hit me does have insurance...its the law here.

The rest of the day was uneventful, I'm at my parents house for baby shower #4:|: right now. I could be at home with my feet up but my best friends are coming because their mother, who speaks little english, insisted she be invited and she needs translators:lol:

Sorry Greg, sucks to be you:lol:

Brian, ah Brian, you'll never find them!

Mama wants the backyard cleanup, I guess we are buying a builind to go back there this weekend:? And she is mad about the mud. So I finished cleaning up my wood and the brush/trash back there this morning. Then I went and bought 100#'s of grass seed and 30# of fertilizer. I bought a broadcast spreader also! That was WAY to much for my silly drop spreader, it has a new home now:P
It's all down and ready, having semi severe weather tonight, so it should get plenty of rain on it!
