Boy Roger, your ground crew must be getting spoiled not having to hump all that wood to the truck. I sure wish we had a GRCS back when I was shagging brush for a living.

Got the logs out today....full load yesterday from both sites....but the big log, the one in the video, wouldn't budge with the self loader. So, I had to pay a guy $400 to bring his excavator in. The bottom three logs scaled out at 2400 bf. The farking firewood guy cut up one of the tops, which was another 150-200 bf, prolly, and a few other logs...prolly worth $125-150....he's gonna get an admonishing, and a bill for the lost $....

plus another 800 bf from 2 other trees.....so at least I'll make a few $ still from the 2nd load... fir market is in the shit ter.....

I love it when the logs can leave whole, in VA I've made some serious $$$$ selling oak veneer logs. Oak saw logs can grade good or bad, depending on which way the wind is blowing. and some decent $ selling pine at around $250 per 1000 bf.

Texas? $40 - $50 ton, wasn't worth hiring a truck, even for the monsters I have done. loggers want 30 tons minimum, (a truck load) but if I stockpiled em.............................. but I'm not here to move wood around. oh well.

$400 to bring in an excavator? why not buck the log shorter?

$ 40 more like it, huh? I'm sure roger has his reasons, though he probably can't remember why.

Dementia or alzheimers, take your pick.
