How are the cork oaks doing now?

We have ONE cork oak in town. I so want to climb and prune it. They always take it on their selves or hire one of his HS buddies

@stig like shit.The cork crew doesn't look after their medium, higher prices, lower quality and chinese cork is what will happen.

I actually meant this:

"The most virulent cork oak pathogen may be Diplodia corticola, a sac fungus which causes sap-bleeding sunken canker wounds in the wood, withering of the leaves, and lesions on the acorns. The fungus Biscogniauxia mediterranea is becoming more common in cork oak forests."

I read some years ago that many were in decline because of fungae.
