HO snapped some shots of the tree yesterday, but forgot today's prune job He took bunches of pictures. I should get more eventually. One could hope anyway lol.. Base hollow with bee hive and about every limb hollow. She still stands.

Set rigging from both climbing and ladder. I inspected the tree for defects (OMG MANY) and found it to be hollow all over. HO opted to do a crown reduction even though.. Bees beehaved themselves and just seemed curious with the goings on. No good access, stairs, 3 foot gate etc. Did a full tapping inspection, some test cutting (see how the hive would react) and got to it. First rig and remove limb, then reduce.

I figure we might be moving a hive in the near future. But hey... dude likes the tree. He also like astronomy.. If I had to accept my woods for what it is from his perspective... Tree would probably stay as well...

Nicely done. Honey bees usually behave if you don't over react to them. I had them crawling all over me and even in my hard hat and didn't get stung. My bosses brother swatted one and it was like watching an old cartoon. They quit buzzing around and the whole swarm turned toward him. Had to laugh at him. Just couldn't help myself
