The Official Work Pictures Thread

I agree with Stephen, but I would get a Hobbs device instead. Me and the fella's have broken 2 GRCS devices ( fragile, with some serious design flaws). We have been running 2 Hobbs devices forever (one going strong after 20+ years) and they have taken anything we threw at them. Ken builds a beautiful, simple, and overbuilt device! Highly recommended.

Yea, the GRCS does have some great features. We throw some pretty heavy wood at our lowering devices from time to time, and the Hobbs seems to take it in stride. Its has been awhile since using a GRCS, so maybe they sorted out some of the issues we had with them. Just sharing my personal experience with the 2 devices.

I own a GRCS and have access to a HOBBS. They are two different animals tho ones a sedge hammer the other is a framing hammer with a speed square.

Great pics!

It was nice to jump off the couch and do this tree in barter for my equipment storage for 2 weeks...

Climbed up and free cut the back weight.
Pulled with the Vanimal....

Petaluma Ranch style and the classic homeowner looking at the stump happy picture.

That is one hell of a juniper, Erico ;). Never seen anything close hereabouts.
Yep. The tree has some serious soul. Whenever I'm in the area I go commune with it. There a Sugar Pine up in Big Trees that has the same kinda vibe. I got a few old growth Reds on my parcel I go sit with when I feel like I'm about to do something stupid. Sit back and get some perspective. I guess you could say I'm a tree-killing tree-hugger?
