Thanksgiving Dinner

My Mom got a 23 pound turkey. My girls are gonna help her this year down at my parents place. The kids are pretty excited to help Grandma cook Thanksgiving dinner. We will either be headed down to their place tomorrow night or Turkey day morning. Depends on if my ex is gonna be a PITA when I pick up the kids. Which she prolly will.

Since I was dang near always gone on deployments, and had a screwy work schedule, and my sis was always out of town over most of the holidays... Plus my parents were doing the snowbird thing in Arizona for the last 6 years... this will be the first time we will all be together in dang near 20 years. My Mom is pretty excited.

The only thing missing is my brother that lives in Tennessee. He was gonna try to fly back with his son and fiance, but they had to stay home in TN. I will be headed over there to TN in May to be in his wedding. :)

I don't know how many will be here or what exactly is on the menu.I however am the officel turkey roaster around these parts. It's a tough deal to do but I manage.

Clean and butter the bird pop it in an oven bag.About 4 to 4.5 hours in the one of the three Westinghouse roasters until it's plastic belly button pops up.Nothing to it. 8)

my guys all wanted hams as they have turkey and im allergic to fowl meat so i have ham every year

Damn rights they do. Last logging company I worked for, five years = two hats, :( I didn't think that was to cool. Good on ya for looking after your crew Willie.

I agree, a lot better. And full of cholesterol.

It suprised me, too. I always thought ham was a lean meat.

On the chloresterol thing, how 'bout pork chops and tenderloins? Now they have to be leaner, right?

The "Other" white meat? I'm not sure, but I bet it's bad for you.

It's a simple formula; If it tastes good, then it's bad for you.

Just want to wish all of you who celebrate it a Happy Thanksgiving
