How'd it go today?

Killed trees, ran out of water by 1, was dehydrated by the time I finished at 2:30, spent the rest of the afternoon sitting in the AC trying to recover. Was 95 again today.

Oh, almost forgot, the stupid dog came home,
Now I told ya he would .Dogs will just be dogs .

They just do dumb things, chase cars for example .What would they do if they caught one, bury it in the back yard ?

Dogs are limited to a few things, they either eat it ,roll in it ,screw it or bury it .

thanks Dave. Yeah Butch it's nice can put all my crap in there now instead of hauling it around in the back of a pick up with a camper shell.

Crane job is done, and I got paid. Today was amateur hour for me though. I don't know what was wrong with me, and I ALMOST (by about six inches to a foot) took out the corner of a house. Instead, I just have to fix three stone steps.

Explanation to be in the work pics thread momentarily.

Actualy it does Butch...I got it working a while back. Nice bench seat in it with storage underneath.

Hmmmm... Storm chasin. I dont think I would subject my poor truck to 2400 mi one way pulling a 6000 lb chipper especially going Interstate 10 through Tx. I would end up killing myself or some else from insanity.

I was going to stop by your place in Alexandria? and say hello. I believe that was when you had firt started your site. I spent six months down there after Katrina helping govern over two hundred crews in Mandiville, Covington, and Slidell but, I never seem to get away working seven days a week.

Really went out confuzzled today..... Did tomorrows work today and now have a few phone calls to make... I could have sworn it was Wed.:|::lol:
Oh well, Killed a couple more off my books and got paid..... Good enough :D

Nice tree Greg, and nice chipper chocks:D I may have done that once or twice!
We spent 10 hours (3 of us) on 2 walnut trees today. Tip and chip and rake. still have to move wood and do 2 smaller ones tomorow. Lots of chipping, sure glad to have the winch

Did some work around the house, hung a mini-blind and started on the sheetrock in the living room.
Went with some freinds to see "The Hangover" pretty sick movie! I loved it!
Get to go start the dirt work and forming for a concrete pour tomorow, it's supposed to be 102! My AC really sounds good, but I need to make some money!

I've got an appointment with the Otolaryngologist this afternoon. For the past 13-14 years I have an intermittent problem swallowing where the food becomes lodged in my throat. The issue is constant (best I can tell) but it's only a problem every now and again (a couple of Housers have seen me experience it) in that it doesn't overly impede my life. It's annoying as hell when it happens, but it usually clears rather quickly.

To give you an idea of the issue, a few weeks back I needed to take some Excedrin Migraine pills, and what we had were the geltabs. After trying to swallow the first and it getting stuck for 40 minutes or so (till it dissolved), I had to cut it in half to take the second pill.

For the past 15 hours I've had a piece of chicken stuck. The main reason it's currently a problem is I can't swallow which means I can't rehydrate (without an IV) which means working when it's 96* out is fairly well out of the question. I tried once, the work was pretty easy, but it was nearly a bad idea.

There's my day in a nut shell. Betcha woulda never guess a swallowing problem from a fella my size.

That's an odd affliction - Imma hafta google that one. Is it a gag reflex? Can you brush your tongue with a toothbrush?

Not a gag reflex at all, although I've considered it might be a spasm from cold liquid, although I can drink like a cammel. It's not stress related, nor an inflamation of the esophageal tissue.

It seems nearly every time something gets stuck, I'm taking a drink (behind the food), so I've became quite capable at ignoring a gag impulse while I make it to the restroom to deal with privately (imagine it happening in a restaurant, for example). Although the drinking causing it is most likely without correlation.

I'm a rather discrete fellow in some ways, spewing in the middle of a crowd of people is a no go. As is moving quickly which draws attention. The worse place it's happened was in the cafeteria in high school, probably 100 yards or so to the bathroom.

Gag wise I've tried (previously) to try and throw the blockage up, but I've never been successful at triggering an up-dawg occurrence, regardless how I tickle my throat. Ipecac is a no go since I can't swallow.

16 hours in and I'm about a gallon in the red for normal fluid intake. Assuming it doesn't clear, by my appointment I estimate I will be a new record low weight (since highschool). :P

Is it too deep to reach in with something and pull it out? A set of forceps or something? You can even find cheap stainless forceps in the fishing department at Wal Mart, sold as 'hook removers'.

rinse it down....

Just got back from a good rec climb at the Ashland Estate. It was myself, and two other climbers, one a pro and the other a rookie. It was a 65' Walnut. This thing had an awesome spread and was great for limb-walking. With a little clean up, it would make a great tree for climbing in! Made for some excellent practice for the comp.8)

Also got payed for that flip line I completed, so now I can finally start paying off this rope debit I've built up.(not much, around $250)

Hmmm, did some cleaned around the casa. Met strikermike, he took home some spurs, biner, lanyard, and micro pulley. Went and did that tulip, and came home and cleaned the carb on my Tomos moped. Freaking thing runs like a top now.

Good job RD. I lined up a couple of jobs for tomorrow, did a consultation, bought some printer ink and a portable backup device for my computer.
