How'd it go today?

Got hammered last night! The phone just would not stop ringing!
Had a guy call about a concrete job, but he's not sure when he wants to do it?
Another guy called about wanting me to brush hog some land, shot him a price, no word.
Dad called.
The climber called wanting to know if I had heard anything yet, persistent guy, almost annoying!
Then the wife laid into me about getting my GC license and told me about the projects she thinks we should do next week when shes off. Nice of her to give me warning? She wants to lay 12 yards of concrete in the back yard and replace three windows in the house, but she has Vacation Bible school half days all week? Yeah, this should go well? It also takes fourteen days to get windows in?
Well thought out dear:roll:
Got out of here for a while, went fishing. Got skunked, Wife called at 11:30, the power had gone off then back on five min. later. No biggie. But there was no power in our room or Bubbas room. I messed with it until 2am. Got nowhere. Finally tracked it down to a corroded wire on an old outlet. Easy fix, but sucked to find!
Worked on a mower for a bit then put lime and fertilizer down on this rock I call a front yard!

Removed an old dead white oak. VERY brittle. Good day though. Made me anxious for that mini to get here. No access to get the logs out, so it had to be firewooded and rolled out to be loaded on a trailer. Mini would have saved two - three hours easy.

how is biz in Maggie Valley?

did a site visit, checked out some newly planted trees, came home and wrote a report about it. :) printing it now, along with the invoice. :D

Must be a sign of how slow it is.

We are doing firewood about 2 days a week right now.

Naw, it just needs to get done. Once we tear through this pile, it'll be done and we can forget about.

Depends on the night before. :/:

Did 5 cords today without working up too much of a sweat.

Today I raised some trees and cleaned up the HO stub cuts. There was also 4 old dead Ash trees that were covered in poison ivy. I ended up tieing into a neighboring birch and spiking up one of them, to much of my surprise it was pretty stout. Day went well and was home by 11:30.

Today went ok. I'm down to four more finals for the year and then I'm done!

Today was boring for the most part. I spliced up a hitch extender for another climber. Still have to make him a flip line, and I'll pick up the material this weekend in Ohio. (supplier is bringing it down so I save on shipping) Other than that, not much has gone on today, expect for taking the chip truck to the shop. The front brakes are acting up, but from what we can tell its minor. Mechanic said it would be done my tomorrow.

Great day, wrecked a big ol broken redwood and got paid half, gotta bill insurance for the other half.

Here's the only pics I took, upon arrival.

:O No Joke!!!

Yeah, that tree screams 'crane me!' I've never worked on a cottonwood, but that looks like a lot of big heavy wood.

Dang ... 4 hours.. A lot of tree in four hours....... Wowsers......

Me and mine just laid down weeds today... Started the twenty acre weed whack job today :P
Picked up a free Troy Built power scythe and cooked ribs for dinner... I am probably not as tired as Butch but.....

Musta been a big crane, or cottonwood is light. You take some massive picks off that thing?

Never seen a crane job go that fast as we only have one guy up here with one and he just takes his time. Small crane too (don't ask me size) Smaller than anything I have seen you use Butch... And seeing I have never done one..... One of these days I wish I could see or ground for a crane job with some one as good as some as these guys on here. I would probably be more than amazed.....
