How'd it go today?

OSHA would have hung my family years ago than. I can remember running a case skidsteer to load trucks with big rounds when i was 11. Actually, now that I'm a hair older and more insightful, thats insane.

I have a 12 foot Wagnaw. And it is the shiznit up here on slopes when I have some light pruning to do.

Congrats to you both Nick and Ranger! Good to see you get out there and get it going this summer. I have been working since I could push a lawnmower or rake. Good to see that in some of our youth today ;)

Had a good day... Mistletoe job on a white oak. Katy spotted me while Rob did some brushing for the guy. We'll do more next month. I did not quite finish the tree. I'll post some pics and 'splain in the pics thread.

Way to go young guys. I worked on the farm at that age. I worked on my trailer today a little. Had to move a bed for my parents first thing this morning and I got a pretty good size liquid amber to take down next week that I bid this afternoon. Nasty roots. I forgot to mention that when I met CursedVoyce in Mariposa yesterday I also met his mother and his son that is 3 years old I think. The Mom seemed very nice and the son was an extremely polite and well mannered young man.

Yup he's 3 :D
Was a real pleasure meeting you Steve.
Sorry if I came across a little hyper yesterday. I was excited you were here and had a lot going on. Politeness is a serious thing in my family, so we impress it upon the kiddos a bit ;)
TY for the study guide :)

Met up with Cybergeek for brekkie this morning. Cool character; a self-admitted redneck like moi.

yesterday...three estimates, finished Coporate return:|:....got my 020 back, turns out it had leaky seals. Set up a saw mill in the yard for a wet day of sawing.

Looks like a blast, Brendon.

Today I took the boat out to knock the dust off it. I launched at Lake Monroe in Sanford and went all the way up the St John's River to the far side of Lake George. According to Mapquest it looks like I went about 60 miles (120 miles round trip).

On the way up when I got to just about a half tank of fuel, I knew I had to buy fuel or turn around. I stopped at a marina and bought two cycle oil and 5 gallons of gas. Then on the way home I had to stop again about 10 miles from the ramp to buy more gas. I think I burned about 18 gallons in it today.

There was a woods fire off to the west side of Lake George. They had a helicopter with a water bucket dipping from the lake and dumping on the fire. Half the lake had a cloud of smoke over it.

sounds awesome....catch any fish?

Nope. I stopped to fish a couple times but didn't spend a lot of time on it. I did find a secluded spot to fire off the Glock though. Just once. You really shouldn't do that without ear plugs. That was about 4 hours ago and my ears are still ringing. :(

TD went great today. Good sized live oak (forgot camera DOH!) not real big but good sized. Originally was going to have to rig most of it out. Home owner moved everything (except a camper) from out of the drop zone. Only had to run one piece out. Then Bomb the rest 10-15' pieces just to keep from wacking a shed or some trees. 2 hours every thing was on the ground. Home owner and brother used a 4wd with some chokers we made to drag the brush to a burn area and butcher the branches into firewood for his bro. We took home almost 2 cord :D So about a 3 cord tree. ALAP and they clean up ;) 5 foot at the root flare. They made a good call taking this one down after it clobbered the car port on one side. Hollow, ant infested, heart wood like cork, white spongy fungus in one stem. Need to go nurse my ant bites.. LMAO. Felt good and got done. Oh and traded some of it on my day care bill :D Gawd I love topping and bombing!
