How'd it go today?

The past three days have been pretty lousy with a respiratory virus. Woke this morning feeling it lifting a bit! I really dislike not getting things done 😠
Week two for Karen who developed a secondary bacterial infection deep in her lungs. Bilateral rhonchi, and despite zithromycin and albuterol still pretty nasty.

Went to Tappan Lake campground today for the gas company. A pair of 120’ tall white pines inside of their fence. We stripped as high as we could with the elevator before lunch. One thing treework has done for me over the years has made me a professional fence guy. I took the chain link out and with the insurance of a tag line flopped those pigs. A few tips went beyond right of way but no damage. Saved a ton of time and got home at a respectable hour. We were able to get the fence back up almost perfect just so they can take it back down soon and replace it with something that hides the above ground pipe work from the campers.
Also put 48 arrows down range and I’m pulling to my right a bit. I think I’m over pulling while trying to get steady. I’m going to start working my stable arm with some kettlebell exercises to help with that. Also this is my second time shooting since the weather isn’t complete trash. Pretty sure I’m gonna mess up my back alignment in the next couple weeks but I’ll deal with it. Trying to get up to 100 arrows a day and be shooting golf ball size groups at 40 yards. I want to be at softball size groups at 70 yards by opening day this year. Setting my goals high but I plan on tagging 8 white tail this fall plus maybe a PA hunt with a good friend

I am shooting lefty. For muscle balance I’m going to incorporate pulling with my right arm soon. I’ve been waiting on my neighbor to clean his basement so I could get a cable machine but I might just have to do it with free weights. Cable machine would be nice as I could mimic almost exactly the movements and weights being held. With free weights it’s not that simple. Also I’m thinking my recent knee issue is messing with my bracing stability. Also could be that I’ve been slacking on my workouts this month.

@cory. I’m slacking lately. The archery I just picked back up and I’m not happy with my results. I’ve barely gun hunted ( never found it a challenge) and never bow hunted. I want to be very lethal. One thing I despise is hunters that have to track animals for miles after shooting them. I want a quick and humane kill. I won’t hunt this fall if I don’t feel confident that I can do that. Also it’s my belief that the “gamey” flavor people say that wild game has is from adrenaline. If the animal suffers the adrenaline has coursed through its body for to long. A quick and ethical kill would stop that flow in my mind. I haven’t looked into the science of this but I can tell you that I’ve eaten venison that was dropped and ones that were tracked for miles and I know which I prefer.
BJJ is going well enough. I should get awarded my blue belt soon. That’ll make me special in the grand BJJ world. I’d have to look again but it’s a very low percentage of people that actually make it to blue over white. Numbers go down from there.

They will still run a bit after getting shot cleanly.

Yes but not very far. Heart and one lung keeps them close. Also a good wide cut broadhead does more damage than a bullet. We have mostly shotgun here but if it was rifle I would do headshots unless it was a trophy size buck. They don’t go no where
Probably should move to the hunting thread with this stuff. Sorry

It’s a bitch but keep up that recovery road. Push yourself but know when to say when. You need to stay mobile so in 20 years when I can finally come to Alaska you can show me around😎

Looks like shiny things are coming my way... stay tuned.

I ordered a high torque starter motor to try on my 318 cid chipper. I learned that I've been trying to start my chipper with too little gas and that my choke hasn't been working fully. I have a new carb on the shelf. It's been waiting to go on. The old one's been working.

Moisture around here in the winter can be tough on electrical things, particularly if not used regularly.
