How'd it go today?

I'm looking for a brake handle for my Husky 66 (worlds most reliable chainsaw), and I'm blown away by what people think they are worth. $140 and up is pretty common. :O I'm trying to get it set up to leave at the sawmill so I'm not hauling my 395XP around all the time, and I can leave the 32" bar on the big saw. I only use it sparingly at the mill due to it's prehistoric suspension.:/:

I dropped a tree on it. That saw I've owned since '96. It's spent years in the back of a pickup, neglected, and it still starts and rips. All the Stihl saws I've bought new are in pieces on the bench.

Yes.

Had that tube on one side and a framed and tiled shower enclosure on the opposite side that had been leaking into the floor. Deleting that and putting a combo in where the tub was. Also getting rid of lots of old tile. Half way up the walls, countertop, etc.

Had a storm call last night. White oak top blew out in a storm and had a driveway blocked. Older/repeat customer of mine. Was actually a good friend of my dad when they were in school. After I had the mess cleaned up and was about to leave, he came out and pointed out the muscadine vine across the drive from my truck. He said he got the sprouts from my great-grandfather about 70 years ago, and had kept it going ever since. Every time they’d move over the years, he’d take some with him. He told me to ask my dad if he wanted some sprouts off of it. He does…and so does my wife and daughter. So I’ll be going back in a week or so to get as many sprouts as I can scrounge… I thought it pretty cool that he’s kept that same vine alive for that long.
