How'd it go today?

Rescued a LoRa Meshtastic node from a tree twenty minutes south of me this morning. On the way home I bought some magnetic tool holding strips. I’ll use them placed in a routed out slot in the back of a nice piece of wood to mount the kitchen knives on the wall…
Now off to see a play: Pygmalion.

It was a radio repeater node a friend had set high in a tree. They are Meshtastic, LongRange (LoRa), rechargeable and/or solar-powered, 915MHz radios which create a mesh network, passing messages from one to the next.

It is an off-grid communication system which would be a way to communicate and coordinate should say, cell towers be hacked or the internet went down, or if you are lost in the wilderness. Different areas of the mesh can also connect over long distances via a technique called mqtt, by using the internet.

Our local section of the mesh regularly gets messages from enthusiasts as they fly through our airspace at 30,000+ ft elevation.

Busted my phone again. Or maybe it's the aftermarket screen.

The plague has hit my house. I must be patient zero because I’m the only one not feeling the effects. A bit tired but that’s nothing new to me. Pretty usual day at work. I don’t think I should go to BJJ this week just in case I’m the carrier. Sucks because we added a night to get some guys ready for tournament in a few weeks at the Arnold Classic. I might go to support them and see what kind of supplements they will be giving away. I jokingly say that I’m coming back with ALL the TRT.
 
Hung an 85” TV in the classroom of the local woodworking store yesterday.
The sixteen 1/4” toggle bolts through commercial steel studs held a 36” x 52” piece of 3/4 plywood. The tv mount was held by four lag bolts into studs, and six smaller lags into the plywood. A total overbuild as the tv only weighs 75 lbs, but the last thing I need is something pulling loose in a public venue.

Franklin M155 stud finder - does quite well with wood or steel studs, and good for tracing electrical, too
The fellow up on the pick with me is a friend who was a machinist at the local Chrysler plant for 30 years. Trickiest part of the job was finding odd jobs for the less ably endowed to keep them away from the process.
I told the ‘volunteers’ to show up at 10:00am. I was there at 9am, loaded in, set up the ladders and pick, and had everything mapped out and marked with horizontal and vertical registration marks on the wall and plywood backing board before they walked in… to avoid translation errors should someone else feel inclined to lay anything out ( control freak I guess!?!)
 
Btw I've never heard of that word 'pick', meaning the scaffold plank you are standing on?
