Kept working in the dark with a head light, kept noticing shooting stars twinkling across the ground…apparently we are having a bumper crop
of spiders, presumably because of all the rain (for the desert) that we’ve had.

So found a broken bolt holding my kids subframe on his Moto,
I put 3:1 a little heat…. Drilled in the broken side like 1/4 inch feeling good..
Break the tip of the extractor off pounded deep in there… so tried drilling that, nope.

So thinking weld a nut to the backside of broken nut and just crank it all the way through…
Is that seem like something? I dunno I’m an idiot.

Depends if the bolt has threads all the way up to the head that broke off. Take another bolt out to see.

I’ve had good luck welding a nut on a broken bolt if the broken bolt is at least flush. Drill the threads out of the nut first, that will give you a better weld. Let it cool to the touch before trying to remove it helps.

Weld, let cool a bit, soak in penetrant. Heat draws it in. Tap tap tap a lot with a small hammer. Cool bolt completely to shrink. The best is a small impact gun with just a little trigger. In and out gently to break loose. Repeat as many times as necessary. The weld makes the bolt want to expand and if the surrounding metal is cold, it can’t. Once it cools, it will be smaller. The expansion and contraction work things loose and create space.
