How'd it go today?

I'll be gone for a couple of days.
My Swiss father in law has jumped on a bus tour to Denmark, so we'll run over to the mainland and meet up with him.
I've only met him maybe 3 times since I ran off with his daughter, so I'm looking forward to getting to know him better.

No trees today so I learnt how to weld with a semi automatic welder.
Made one of these.............which will be handy:lol:
Ps, it doesn't matter if it's upside down or not.

Mick,

You will learn how to weld. If you need some help with anything, please visit one of my favorite welding sites.... weldingtipsandtricks.com I'm sure you'll enjoy the lessons taught there.

Have fun.

Found a nice light bag with a draw string closure at a surplus store for $1, and found a smaller zip up bag at a dollar store, sewn them together and a hanging loop I have my 120ft 11.5mm HH climb setup. Wish I found a red bag, but salmon colour is manly.

Yes salmon color is manly but pink isn't:P

;)

Cutie pie there!

He's not still pissed is he? Father in laws can be tricky. Especially if you take their daughters out of country!

He is not pissed at all.
We had a nice dinner together in the evening.
He had brought some stuff, that he figured Margot missed.
20 pds of good cheese for fondue and raclette for example. Gotta love a guy like that:)
I took my youngest dog, Thais to see the ocean along with the Swiss lady. They both enjoyed that a lot.
The old dog, Sam, was dropped at my ex-wifes on the way and picked up again on the way back. She misses him a lot, but can't have him for longer periods where she lives.

As you can see, there is still a lot of Hitler's Atlantic wall left on our otherwise unmarred 350 kms of coastline to the west.

Was able to go rescue an excavating crew from some real scary trees the last couple days, fiddler even escaped his vacation for a couple hours to help with the ones that required two "tree guys". Then got a big job lined up, and got an order for a couple log benches. Looks like summer is finally here yay

Tree undertaker today. And a fire close by.....

Finished the storm damaged maple today. Used double block rigging on a lot of it. Some of it was to far from the LZ to do it so I had to butt hitch and hold tight then use another rigging point to swing it to the LZ. I ha to use bob as my GRCS to lift a few big sections of wood away from the house roofline. It's been a ton of rigging the last two days. I like it. I even got to show one of the groundies Tucker's little wedge trick so he quits breaking and cutting my plastic ones. It was a great day

Gong show. Back to retrieve the rope guide this morning. Good shot, up and out with the pulley jammed in a not so tight crotch grrrrr. Set up my caterpillar( thank you tree machine nice tool) retrieved into a lead on lead. Ok this shit is frig ed. Throw line high up over to set up a pull up retrieval and line and RK get stuck in same lead on lead overlap. Just impossible. Throw another RK and my back up Slick line and bam 1st throw good. Then goes sour strum it back down and hook up a full h2o bottle and steel biner so as to isolate and for some reason it won't cooperate and get it stuck finally breaking the line. Firecrackers anyone. Rk and up to free the stuck Rk and caterpillar and h2o for the win. Laugh all you want lesson is figure it out at the tip and all the way to the ground. Cost me 900 bucker cut n dropper to finish the day happily.
