Harken winches

How does bronze do with ropes running on it? Does it heat up more than aluminum?

In use on a sailboat, the bronze ones are put in the high use areas. They hold up longer to wear.
Bronze will hold the heat longer than aluminum, taking longer to cool off after it gets hot.

Steve, they will work for "Baby" winches which also means tacking baby pieces. When I say baby pieces that is all relative but those winches are mounted with 5 or 6 m6 bolts I believe (like 1/4") so go figure the shear strength on that.............

Excellent price though and would be ideal for trimming or just for tensioning lines etc. See you with 3 seconds to go;)

I don't think my connection is fast enough for that kind of activity.

I emailed the guy to see what size rope it will tail. Might be too small.
edit: Thanks Reddog. 1/2" rope would be fine.
