Flip line for a pole strap?

I think it would be possible to make a pole strap adjustable by incorporating a friction saver type prusik. While prusiks will work on flat straps, they work a lot better on round rope. However, we already have something like this - some folks call it a Beranek lanyard (after the Man himself who made this idea popular - thanks Gerry!). A Beranek lanyard is made from a nice stiff hard-lay 3 strand such as TreeMaster to make it easier to flip around stubs. As Nick probably knows though, this kind of rope can be a real bitch to splice if you are going to make them yourself.

Nah. Nick knows tricks.
