Why isn't it correct anymore? Unless the upgrades have been certified, they don't mean anything to the law. My '79 IH2275 has been upgraded, and had to be certified by the dealer, but that's a big truck.

Maryland was like that too. You could only tag it for as high as the manufacturer allows, but NC is a republican state (tag it whatever you want). I guess following the advice of the manufacturer is too restrictive on the freedoms of biz, but that's for another forum.

Here you also don't need a tag for a chipper
