Also depends on the saw size. Backchaining with your climb saw is a different animal than with a larger power head. I mean, hell, who doesn't like a little push back now and again?

Ok, been a while, guys and gals. But, after spending all night with 2 upchucking little boys and a few loads of laundry, I climbed about a third of small row of lombardy poplars we had to prune and said, see ya later. So, I went home and did some admin, met a few clients and found myself with...

A couple from a crane removal, and then some from a dead pine flop. In a bit of a cold snap at the moment, so things are moving work wise, but its slow. And I'm A-ok with that!!

Pics are a little deceiving, basically I was trying to get the balance right on the pic. Normally trunk wraps, but I don't have a problem using limbs, especially if I have shorter slings. That one didn't come off as well as I would have liked, that's for sure. I've never really understood the...

Thanks guys, its been a while since I've really had time to check in here. But, you all are a big part of why I'm kicking butt and taking names right now. So far this year, after 3 quarters, I have already done 50% more gross sales and added a chipper!! And as my wife is going off mat leave in...

My safety line or the slings on the trunk? I often use both my lanyard and my climbline for working spars in the former case, in the latter it was a bridle. What a bad double post!

A few more pics...on the willow pollard is a pic of the way I sometimes tie in on a single line to avoid a sideload on the biner. But, I'm generally not too worried about sideloading a biner...would someone just invent one that could be sideloaded already??

Beauty view...and since we're sharing views from God's country, here's Lake Okanagan from the Naramata side. I reduced some willows, alder and then vista pruned some big fir trees. Great place to work and even better people to work for.

We have a lil binder that we show, but it needs some serious updating. I'd like to get a shot of the whole fam on a good project. The little crane is owned by the fella operating it, who I sub for and vice versa on virtually all of our projects. It is a good relationship and we get along...

Bigguns...3 hrs? You da man!! Lots of room to work, Imma guessing? We just did a big one last week where I brought a climber in to help...sometimes it sure is nice to run the ropes and see the operation from the ground. Especially when you're self employed and tend to climb freaking everything!
