    372xp AV spring removal

Cheers Brian, I’ve looked inside the spring and can’t see any Allen head, just the tank moulding. I’ll give it a bit more aggression with the pliers!

    372xp AV spring removal

Hi, so I thought I knew this saw inside out! But! Seems I’ve a broken “tank top AV spring”! can I for the life of me get the busted half off the tank! Any clues to how it’s attached?

    interesting rigging configuration

I realise this set up is hypothetical (or I hope so), but back in the real world, could we not just use a bigger rope or simply let it run?

Tomorrow is the day it gets its true test Dave. Ben is a demon in a tree but works kit hard, not brutally but what the stuff was designed for. As he has developed he has gained a good knowledge of trees and gear so will take on his comments as worth while. I like the idea of hanging the saw...

    t540 xp

Pete, overall and seeing as this is officially a pre production version its pretty good. Given what we are getting thrown at us in recent years I think this should be quite robust. One little thing I have spotted though is the soft rubber on the top handle grips, the edges have flaked away a...

Ok, so I’ve been given a chance to try out one of these saws! I thought given this opportunity I’d share my thoughts and findings on this almost mystical being. Please bear in mind, this is supposed to be totally unbiased, is just from my initial findings, and as this is a “pre production...

Too right! The February date will be two and a half years past the origional release date.:what: As a thought, is the 192t still available in US and Europe? As a stop gap, maybe well worth it.

After speaking to our local dealer here again last week, it appears February 2013 is the nearest date here too. Never know though, come January, it may get delayed again:roll:

Totally with you about the all rounder. Seems over the last few years as a result of the search for the low emission perfect saw, we have ended up with a high percentage of these "revvy" saws, and the old fashioned "grunt" has fallen by the wayside slightly. I still run a muffler modded ms360...

Many thanks for that Magnus, I do appreciate your opinion. Over here there are many arbs shouting the 560's cutting speed over anything else at 60cc, but I hear they dont like bigger bars. Largest stock bar is 18" wereas stihl will run 20" on 3/8 and cope too. I guess running the 560 in...

Is there a difference between 562 and 560? Thats interesting to hear you say that Magnus, you are one of my saw advice legends, so I'd be interested on your negative thoughts following so many positive ones from elsewhere. I ask as its quite current with me as I thought the 560 needed more...

    Notch too small?

The "mini notch" is used by all the pro's;) To be honest, I wouldn't say it was that small. What you acheived there is a hinge thats almost the full width of the butt. Ideal I'd say to get the most hold from your hinge wood. Very nicely done.

    MS361c back to standard 361?

Many thanks Wally, much appreciated.8) I have found a couple of new MS361c's that could be reasonably priced, but not sure if I'd get along with the extra brake trigger. It appears the main bodies are the same so if I cant get along with the "C" double brake, I may be able to pick up a blown...

    MS361c back to standard 361?

Just wondering if anyone knows if its possible to change the dual brake and side hand tensioner on a 361c to standard? Any help or experience shared on these would be appreciated, even a pdf of each to compare? Many thanks in advance, Pete:)

    Who's online?

Ive never been able to keep up with all this majical time machine stuff, and I still dont understand it!:? This reminds me of the time I persuaded my wife to ring our good friends out in OZ(they were recently emigrated). We both knew it was 9hrs difference so I insisted it was good to call...

    Stihl192 or 200

I run both in t version. The 192t of mine is modded and has lasted about 7 years now with no ill effects. It has been used for dismantles, but mainly pruning. It is the only saw that goes to every job. The 200t is still in a different league, it is the allround topper for sure. The two should...

Very valid point Ed about the many, many other planes that were so signicant in the war, yet so few of them are even known of by the general public of today. Pete.
