Guys today i found the score , friggin big time .
I was in a slavage shop and i found 10 to fifteen wood chuck chain saws for 88 bucks each brand new.
They supposedly have 2.3 to 2.9 HP .
I layed one down and stood on it and tried to rip the handle off and tear out the spring damp system No Go.
I can dead lift 300 easy, so im not totally weak.
It has a nice thick bar and a chain u expect on a 260 pro sthl.
Actually looked like the chain we run on the 372,
I was ina hurry , wife kept tugging on me to furniture shop
Anyhow

The saw seemed more solid than a 346 xp.
I took off the air filter it seemed bomber.
All the linkage seems really simple and easy to work on. Bost of all the linkages look way bomber.
The exahaust its sick good .
I dont know where they came from ,but they look like dolmars or solos or old jonser reds.
Im thinking of buying all of them early in the morning .
Anybody know anything about this saw .
Its heavy for a climbing saw , a little heavier than a 346.
The only thing on the whole saw that was crap, was the chain break.
I wish i would have just bought umm all then.
ill be back early tomorrow
These saws seemed more solid than most pro saws.
88.00 bucks apiece still in package :O:O:O
Im serious , if i handed you one and it saws as good as it looks youd pay 200 any days of the week.
What gives ?
I cant find umm on the net they were painted red and had a wood chuck sticker on them.:?

I'd buy them up. I can never turn down a deal.

They look like this???

I dont have a friggin pic yet .
tomorrow i will though.
I cant find one on the net.
Very stocky saw for 88 bucks.
Dang i wish i would have got pics and everything.
My wife was ina hurry , it dawned on my super thick skull the deal i passed up.
Im sosos stupid.
Anyhow there were some other people there and no body bought so they will be there in the morning.
It was a salvage furniture store.
Ill be back early.

I'd suggest approaching this 'deal' with skepticism. I also suggest running one of these saws for a day or two before buying up the whole pile. Otherwise I think you might end up with a dozen very expensive pistol targets.

Thats saw is deffinatly one of those.
I cant say which one , but ill deffinalt run it next to the 2560 pro and 346 tomorrow morning.
Its big and it looks well made so crap ill go 88 bucks.

Thanx for that web site

just because it looks good, doesn't mean it is. It might not even have a chromed jug.......bearings could be crap.......parts? impossible to get.....

but you could give it to the groundies, and not have a worry in the world.

It's prolly better than a Wildthang......

I thought that was a given.

If you do buy them all, at least you'll have some parts back-up. Funky ignitions and cheapo oil pump worm gears can malfunction quickly. I haven't heard of any Chinese copy companies issuing recalls. We get a lot of their products imported here. You'd be surprised what all they put into some of their goods. An importing outfit was just on the hook for bringing in big meat dumplings, but instead of meat, it turned out to be nicely flavored steamed cardboard. :|:

How does the chain look on those, that might give something away on what you have there. The cheap imports here all have the big wing safety chain that is reserved for people over ninety.

Good luck though, hope you made a score.

The chain is what caught my eye, it really nice.
We did some research, it the same CC as the MS 250.
Im not sure why the chain is heavier duty.

I'm going to throw out a wild guess here and assume that you're running .325 gauge chain on your ms250, and I'll guess that the cheap Chinese saw has 3/8" chain on it. Probably because that's what they were able to get the cheapest. Doesn't mean that the saw has the power to use it. Poulan puts 20" bars on their Wild Thangs, doesn't mean they have the power to use it all.

If you think that makes the saw better, then I'm surprised. I assumed you knew a little bit more about saws than that. Good luck with your garbage saws.

What you see is a shiny version of the saw.
im telling yall the linkages are great.
The exhaust is very thick and hardy.
It just feels like a pro saw not some wally world junk.
Remember i stood on the bar and literally tried to break it.
Its solid the damping system did not budge
2.8 HP should push any chain at 18 inches. haha

well we are about to find out if this 45 cc saw can cut.
My number one climber went ,on his lunch break, and bought one.
He said three things," i liked the chain, the price and the CC's.
If nothing else itl be worth having for a groundie saw."
Cool

A good chain on a shitty saw is like putting lipstick on a pig. It has a purty mouth, but.......

Well its cuts decent, it has a Oregon chain on it, eye catching for such a chepo.
It works great on the ground but like many cheap saws it floods out from hanging vertical making it hard toi crank.
My climber says for the money one of the best cheapos around.
He said its pretty strong on the ground.
crazy huh
