Training the Regiment

Well, I was impressed with this setup when I went back to College in the UK for a chainsaw short course for professional development.
I was teaching at our local College here and decided to bring this certification to Bermuda. It was fully supported and financed by the National Training Board and since I left the College in 2003 and started my own business, continues to be supported by Government departments for basic chainsaw training. Several local landscape companies have had their staff trained too...its spreading!

In the UK this training and assessment is the minimum legal requirement for chainsaw competence for professionals. It has a vast infrastructure and support network, and is kept current by annual standard setting events with top professionals in the industry, arb. and forestry combined. They are also linked into the national qualifications and curriculum framework!
Bermuda is a tiny international outpost, reducing accidents and increasing skills, one at a time!
