Nothing like that. These mushrooms never have that effect. IMG_0027.jpeg The Russian name of this mushroom comes from the word stump. Because these mushrooms like to grow on stumps. In Russian, this mushroom is called опёнок. I don't know how it is in Europe, on other continents, but in Russia this mushroom is very appreciated.

So what was the armalaria thing about.
I thought only conifers were affected by Phellinus weirii?.

Turned up this afternoon to rig out a large Birch tree or speed line.

About a quarter of the way up there was a cavity. Stuck the silky in there and about 10 inches went in. Didn’t fancy rigging it as I was a bit knackered from the three trees that morning. Originally they wanted to straight fell it so I took off some of the back weight and side weight.

Came down and placed it right between two small juvenile fruit trees. Just enough holding wood to hold on the hinge.

View attachment 138103 A rather non-standard input of wires into the house. For this option, we probably face a fine and power outages until the malfunction is fixed. By Russian standards, it should be like this - View attachment 138101

On a serious note. I have a friend who has been an electrician for 35 years. He moved here about 10 years ago.

He came round to fix a couple of things for us and commented that the system in Norway is possibly the worst he has encountered. Especially compared to UK and Ireland.

In fact only one other country in Europe has such a dangerous system, and that was Albania.

This is news to me. Iv'e run a saw in the snow more times than I can count. Wet heavy snow, cold dry snow, and stupid cold dry snow no issues.

Same here. I don’t like working much in the snow but I have done it hundreds of times.

I’d like to know where this thought comes from as April fools was a few weeks ago.
