The Official Work Pictures Thread

Forgive me for showing my ignorance, but why would that be a crane job? Looks like sufficient room to fell from the ground. Of course, we all know pictures don't show everything in play. But I'm curious. Thanks.
Pics are deceiving B. The limb weight was heavy away from the crane and also mostly behind the tree to the right in the pic. The base was also problematic as it was full of inclusions. Biggest reason is to preserve the grass. The house on the hill wanted the tree down and had good reasons. The city granted us permission to use the field but did not want it tore up. I guess they play some communist sport there. Detest time of the year here so not even the slightest rut. Place is like a parking lot.
Also when you own the crane, might as well use it

This was me cutting the stump piece from the twin stem Walnut I did last week. 36" at the base, both stems 85" tall. The smaller stem stayed 18" from the split (8' up) up all the way to 65'. The bigger was 24" above the split to about 50', then just under 20" up to 70'. Neighbor took all the wood, which you can see behind me. Had to rig/block everything down, as too close to house/deck/neighbor's driveway. 2nd heaviest tree I've ever done (Dingo struggled on pieces that would have been easy, even on Red Oak/Ash/Hickory; had a massive, live white oak that topped it). 2021 Stihl MS-461, 28" bar.

Yard was tore up prior to us getting there from a large cherry that blew over a week ago. Last picture is the dead vine covered cherry I get to climb tomorrow. There are a few more removals and a couple of minor prunes to do as well if I can stomach going back.

How can you feel safe working in such shady neighborhoods? Lol

You clicked on the Insert Video button next to the Insert Image button in the Reply window. The software interpreted it as a type of video and encapsulated the pic as such.
That may be possible but I actually recorded a video on my phone. I guess gloves and I phones don’t mix.

Been pretty busy here. Had a bit of a strong wind come through the other day to help drum up some business. Not the best climbing trees to make safe in the high winds.

also did a bit of pruning or a family friendS. They had a new property with 3 mature Oak. 2 of them I just deadwooded and lifted over garage and other trees. The third had extensive deadwood and 3 inclusions on the major stems. I removed the dead, weight reduced the tree to balance and installed 3 spans of Cobra Dynamic cabling braces. The idea being if one goes the other 2 can catch the stem.

Had an Aspen fail at the root and landed perfectly between two neighbouring properties. Nature sometimes gets away with some shit. Didn’t damage anything on either property apart from a couple of stems on a Lilac.

Rented in a 25m lift yesterday as the top had snapped out of a dead Aspen tree and hung up in another. Next to a road and pushing the standing tree further into the road. I climbed it in the winds to secure the top as best as I could the. Dismantled the lot safely from the lift.
