The official "Welcome New Members" thread!

Welcome!
I am trying to learn Indiana trees.

The North Carolina Extension Service has a tree identification guide online.

Hey, I just signed up here. Seeing a lot of familiar folks from Ope and Treebuzz,
on @davidwyby ’s recommendation I thought I’d see what’s going on here. Looks like a cool place to hang out. I’m a timberfaller that owns a tree service in the Sierra’s. Looking forward to reading all the stuff here.

Hi ; I'm Glen .
Have been climbing since 83 . For tower logging in Southeast Alaska and speed climbing . With the arborist climbing really getting going in the early 90s . Then doing more in the thawed out months in Interior Alaska . Mostly take downs . Mostly spur climbing . But getting more into pruning and rope access . I am currently experimenting with different friction hitches .

Where are you Glen? I'm in Wrangell.

Hi;
Wrangell . One of the few town or villiges in Southeast Ive never lived in .
I live in the Deltana/Delta Junction area now and plan to stay . The winters can be extreme . But it keeps the down southers at bay ;#)
I like the Delta junction area. I did multiple sheep hunts around there years ago. Are you on trappermam forum?

No , Ive never heard of it . But then Im old and too busy for the amount of time and energy that I have . Plus , I dont trap . Not opposed to it , I just never got into it I can freeze my hands plenty enough just running our off grid homestead and loggin firewood all winter . I dont need a $16,000 snogo and $4,000. In traps to help me flirt with loosing digits .
Niw , shootin wolves , that I could get interested in . But would need the same snogo . Maybe after I pay off my new Cat ctl . A new snogo might have more appeal .
