tcia is applying for a grant, dont know if you need to be a member or not but heres an e-mail i got from them. hope it helps

TCIA has identified an opportunity to apply for a multi-million dollar
grant that would allow us to assist our members financially.
Congress recently appropriated funds to help reduce harmful emissions
from heavy duty diesel engines. Through the National Clean Diesel
Campaign, the EPA will award grants to assist in building diesel emission
reduction programs across the country that improve air quality and protect
public health. This includes funding assistance for EPA certified
engine upgrades, vehicle or equipment replacements, cleaner fuels, and fuel
conservation initiatives.

This Grant is highly competitive. If we are successful and receive a
grant award, TCIA members could receive funding to retrofit or replace
on-road and non-road diesel-engine vehicles and equipment with cleaner
technologies. Examples of “cleaner technologies” include:

•Engine retrofit kits or total engine replacement for on-road
vehicles
•Diesel particulate filters for non-road vehicles, such as chippers
•Incremental costs up to 25% of the replacement value of a new
vehicle

Funding received will cover up to 50-100% of the cost, determined by
the emission reduction choice you select for your engines and vehicles,
as well as the size of the award TCIA may receive.

To apply, we are required to have information about your truck or
equipment fleet.

Please click on the link below and fill out the questionnaire by
Wednesday, May 28th to help us get this funding for you. If you are not
interested in participating in this program, we’d like to know that, too
– simply click through to the questionnaire and answer "no" to the
first question. We appreciate your prompt reply.

For questions or if you would like additional information, please
contact Deborah Johnson, Director of Development, at (800) 733-2622 ext.
123.

**Grants are applied for and awarded by region, so TCIA may receive a
grant for one region and not another, or we may receive varying amounts
for different regions. This makes it particularly important that we
hear from you – so that we have the most accurate picture of each
region’s need for the grant application.

Good for us because we benefit from it.
Bad approriation of mine and your tax dollars IMO. They should make it law, like in Europe, low sulfur diesel fuel and cleanier burning engines. None of this holding Johnny by the hand bullshit!

Thanks Skwerl, as usual you dialed me in properly.

Want to clean up the environment and have the government help out with the cost? Join TCIA (or don't get any help at all)

Too bad it does not apply to anyone using diesel engines. I mean the point is to help limit pollution right?
But that would make sense, and this is the government.
