Something odd..

The red is dead and the smaller white on the right is arching over the house and needs to go for an addition.
 
Squirrel work...many a year ago a cache of acorns hidden away and forgotten...and a few managed to sprout.

My guess, anyway.
 
I Believe its a Scarlet oak, the leaves are similar as well as bark. Its in the Red oak family, which has flatter ridges (trunk), and black oak, which is coarser and has a more gradual transition between broken bark on lower trunk and smooth on the upper trunk and branches.
Over time the , ridges get rougher, somewhat rounded and broken, upper remains smooth or has shallow furrows
