Made a false crotch using grapple truck

http://youtu.be/qRbAoSXyb7I Took down group of trees one was a Mulberry fell onto shed , lighting hit it . Also removed three or four other ones first. All leaning over shed and fence. Ran grapple all day, used grapple to remove other trees except one,because I heated up my hydraulics from running it all day I had no power fully extended. So instead of waitin till 2 morrow for it to cool down. I raised my grapple , locked it . Attached my climbing line on grapple, walked out on limb and pieced the rest down
I was wondering if that was classed as unsafe or not.

not unsafe in my book. we are currently doing a horrible job of clearing up an apartment complex, every tree is loaded with vines and we are working on a super steep bank. I am doing the same thing, using the boom to tie into just to work the bank.

I'd do it without giving it a second thought.

I would use the grapple for that but not with shorts and no helmet. Cheers

Helmet was hired up to me and I didn,t expect to climb that day I was ale to grapple everything else thought I would on that machine all day
