one major insect pest in my province of Britich Columbia Canada and a number of USA states is Mountain pine beetle (Dendroctonus ponderosae)

Thanks for the link. In Northeastern Pennsylvania we've got Woolly Adelgids on our Hemlocks and Gypsy Moth Caterpillars on everything else.

thats right Tom, we have them here also. not epidemic at this point but we have them.
