The human in the picture is me. It gives reference to the size of the animal. It's not like I was beaming with pride in the pic. They were euthanized with a captive bolt. It isn't a mass slaughter. The animals were all aged (by teeth), stomach content analyzed (check what they prey on), and their sex was recorded.

The chain is to keep that boar from hurting anyone if he woke up. The big ones were brought down with a tranquilizer dart. All the pigs in that picture are still alive.

Wow thanks for the detailed info, much appreciated and I learned alot.

It would seem the humaneness pendulum is swinging the other way! So, devil's advocate, why the extra care and likely expense re euthanizing them vs shooting them?

Camels are rugged af.

And interesting article re the Aussi dingo fence.

Possibly of interest to @Bermy

We used to have a lot in hay fields and on the side of creek banks. Since coyotes came around they have moved up around houses and barns where there is less coyote traffic.
Same here. Holes per acre in the 80's. Then the coyotes came. Now we have one family at the sawmill. I told Chuck not to borrow under the grain building, and we would get along. He hasn't, but the rats have.
