Hard hat fans?

Now, I use the earmuffs to ensure the role of the shin strap. They keep the helmet snug enough to allow every moves in the tree. In the very rare case where a small limb catches the helmet from behind and goes away with it, the shinstrap wouldn't had done any better.

I wear my chinstrap all the time, cause if I don't buckle it, the straps rub my ears. That's the one thing I don't like about the Vertex. They threaded the needle with strap clearance. Maybe mine was made a little off. Not enough to keep me from buying another when the time comes.

I'll be interested in hearing your thoughts after using it awhile.
It’s is a little goofy looking and top heavy but once it gets real hot it will be worth it. Not sure it would work well climbing in the foliage. Yesterday I wore it on Hi until the batt died. Was cooler than a ball cap.
