Here are a couple of pics of what I did-eliminating the lower feed wheel and replacing the discharge chute. In retrospect I think making the bottom rolller smooth is a better way to go but this does work better that the original set up.

Thanks Pard, that helps seing pics I like your out-feed chute....that is kind of what I am thinking. Do you ever have trouble with it plugging up? I will post some pics when I get that bottom feeder wheel fabbed up. Again, many thanks!

Cody, It doesn't plug often but it does occasionally. Usually the problems arise from dull knives and very twiggy stuff.
