DRT climb line tie-in on a spar?

What if you do a redirect SRT and then need to do an emergency descent? If you started with the rope just touching the ground, aren't you now "short" and won't have enough to reach the ground?

That is true, Gary. You do need to plan ahead if you will be needing more line for redirects. But even so, with forethought you will be able to work most trees with surprisingly little excess line on the ground.

Well, I don't have a chipper so I can let my rope hang on the ground, yay me!
