Reflect the heat and insulate a lot…shade. Better yet, half under ground…
We don’t build like we should here. Just run the AC 24/7 for a few months. Eyeroll.

I do have a guest bedroom but you have to bring your own snow suite, boots, gloves, hat, long undies (wool is best), and maybe a pocket warmer or dozen. But I think you may have to get those here.

Actually I was in Minny sota once upon a time, when the ice was 3 foot thick on a lake and the wind was moving like a glacier on to shore and knocking down trees and devastating homes.
Frost heaving the ground and making the roads like roller coaster.
Brutal.

Every time I'm in fl i do a double take when i see exposed pipes
My bud from up here in NY bought a place in Florida. He built a pump house and watched as the locals with exposed pipes were thawing and repairing theirs. How many times does it take?
