Just wondering if anyone knows if AlturnaMATS can be used for impact loading such as dropping chunks of wood down from up high, or falling a large stem on them?

I know that they are awesome for driving equipment on them, just wondering about other uses.

They will break you need something for shock absorbtion like bails of hay or tires layered on top. How about building a bomb pad out of the brush on top of the mats?

Yeah, that's what I thought too Rajan. Thanks for the info. I usually just stack logs and brush below the "impact zone" and that works fine, except for the occasional divot. I was just looking for something a little more clean and easy to work around for my ground crew.

Yes. You land a bunch of branches ( often in different directions) to catch a bigger piece. As the branches crush they absorb the impact and spread the weight. Works best if you can land wood flat.
