I am interested to get some P/T office help and shop help. Possibly the same person, but probably two different types of people.
Curious what you pay people compared to field staff, and what your minimum wage is, as a reference point.
Office assistant to help with admin like:
timesheets
employee files
shopping for supplies locally,
shuttling vehicles
assisting with employee search and screening
social media a bit,
Shop person, might just be a Saturday of:
checking vehicle fluids, lights, etc
Washing and cleaning vehicles and equipment
cleaning around the shop and landscape stuff around property
offloading material and tools from trucks into work yard
maybe a bit of firewood processing
shuttling vehicles
Separating field crews from shop crew can help production and reduce my workers comp, as i have to pay a full day of Tree WC if they do half and half Tree and Shop work.
I find that we (myself and an experienced groundman) are too often working below our pay-grade on shop stuff that isn't equipment maintenance.
