I'm looking for a 10' yale cordage uniline flipline/lanyard with a 90-degree-twisted-attachment-point positioner and heavy steel swivel snap on the end... Anyone know where these can be had?
Thanks!

I tried there first! I got an email back from Luke Dunlevy saying that they couldn't do special orders on Yale cordage since there is a minimum order.

Safeties ... construct , length , Connectors , and adjust. All so personal , preference really. Wish I spliced as not to have to special order.

boy howdy.

Yep- it's on the wesspur website, difficult to find since it's listed as buck rigidline, but I emailed them, and it is indeed uniline and the picture is wrong- and it does come with a steel swivel snap... Second to bottom at http://www.wesspur.com/fliplines/rope-safety-lanyard-kits.html. Says out of stock but the email person said they just have them made up from the ?manufacurer? whenever someone orders one.

That rope is crazy weird. I'm curious to see how you like it. Did you get the one from Wesspur?

Thanks! I'll try to put something on here after I've ordered and used it for a while; always used steel-core, but recently started a new job with a company doing power ROW clearance work. No steel-core allowed. ☹

Ok - I'm a cheap-ass and having trouble pulling the trigger on a $200 flipline, since my next most expensive one is probably only $60. Any thoughts on this rope: http://www.treestuff.com/store/catalog.asp?category_id=7&item=1940
being stiff enough to replace a wire-core lanyard? The negative reviewer's complaint is that it is too stiff to splice, so I'm hopeful about this stuff. Maybe get 10-12' of it and pay treestuff to splice this snap into one end:

and just use some tenex or other hitch cordage for a prussic on the other side?

Any recommendations on the appropriate cordage?

On my homemade rope lanyards I use a little tenex prussic with an aluminum ring follower so that I can adjust it one-handed, and I'm guessing the same trick would work on this stuff... Maybe see if treestuff can do one of those funky little short termination splices that fattens up the rope but doesn't result in an eye on the other end to serve as a stopper knot, since this stuff looks too thick/bulky/stiff to tie a double fisherman's or surgeon's knot as a stopper.

Thoughts? Recommendations?

Thanks!

3/4 is bigger than I like for a lanyard. I prefer 1/2 superbraid plus.

I guess 3/4" is pretty hefty. More interested in the 'stiffness' factor; that 1/2 superbraid looks pretty pliable.
