VT Setup Qustions

Hey all, I just got a new WesSpur catalog and I was looking at the French Prusik/VT Kit. Is this better than the Blakes hitch with a split tail? And I was at Nick's site and noticed most of the split tails are 10mm instead of 12mm/1/2" . Does the 10mil grab better and is it just as strong as a piece of arbormaster blue streak or what not?

In the mountaineering world, where we stole friction hitches from, hitch cord is generally half the diameter of the climbing line. Usually an old bootlace or something.

That won't really fly in our industry, 8mm minimum in the UK. 10 mm is good too, certainly an improvement over a blakes.

I am definitely going to play around with it here at the house then try it on the job once I feel comfortable with it.
