The Official Work Pictures Thread

Love that last shot Peter. Imho, ya should run yer backcut a hair lower to keep from cutting up too fine of a hinge. Nice Single-Jack show, though.

Chris: Cool tree. Thanks.

Dead Arbutus in the sideways-piss-down rain today. Got a nice little jag o wood out of er though.

Such a rookie.

Nice pics.

Jed, Yeah, I usually do cut a bit lower, but I own cheap wedges and always spit out on maples for me. Tried a higher cut for shits and giggles. Didn't spit out. :?:

We took the crown out of a mature Oak yesterday and today we felled the stick. Spent most of the day on a big saw, cutting rings then splitting them into quarters to hand ball them out. We must have a half truck load of sawdust to cart away... my eyeballs feel like sandpaper.

Nice pics Rich, rotten afternoon humping logs though. Hate that!

Wasn't there some kind of competition or something where the winner won someone else's branded gear?

I'd love one of SOTC's hoodies.

It was a classic to be milled.

Weird job, it was for the company owners, godmothers son. He was paying for it to be taken out of his neighbours garden. People like that think money can buy anything. They pressurised the owners, who were an even odder Chinese couple. Not a brew of beverage offered all day, even though the company owners godmother was there... sweeping the garden down whilst we were still cutting. Serious friggin' OCD.

I did think it was a crime not to plank it but the thought off the inconvenience for the customer and home owner and the fact we didn't want to be there made the decision for us.

Customer is a retired high school shop teacher, has pretty nice wood shop, cool property to work at. He also handles all the cleanup after I get everything to the ground :D

Absolutely hate it when the clients is pissing around in the yard and its its a decent size tree, if they start asking dumb questions to pass the time I hate it even more. I know some people that instruct them to go inside and stay inside until the job is finished but that sounds risky in terms of getting them offside... which can be a lot worse.

I could probably count on one hand the number of homeowners I've let in the work zone. I took Chris'S post to mean the homeowner cleaned up after the work was done.

Regardless though, homeowner clean up jobs were always welcomed.

Love that when you can prune a big tree like that with another climber or two. Noce pictures.
Nice hinge shot.
Here is some hinge porn from a double cut today. 44" Dbh. About 120 footer Fat. No room to lay the whole tree and I could bomb limbs right next to the chipper. 3 hours start to finish with the logs bucked and placed for milling.
Felled a walnut and chipped a small mimosa for him just to make happiness.
Went across the street and had Jason drop another pine right before the storm hit. Good day.
